Coma plot
A girl has just turned eighteen, a milestone that coincides with a global health crisis. Locked up at home, she passes the days in a state of uncertainty. Between daydreams and video chats with friends, she follows influencer Patricia Coma. The latter sells to her follower a device that makes the girl reflect on the concept of free will.

Bonello's lockdown film. I am quite a Bonello fan. But this, his most radical film in many respects, I found barely worked. A collage of various versions, including animation in a film with Barbies. Also some existing found footage in a sort of dream film that seems to want to string together three or four philosophical ideas in a slightly forced manner. Sometimes it seems as if these are digressions that Bonello couldn't fit into other films. At times it is clearly a kind of pandemic stream of thought. I found it mostly too closed and couldn't connect with it enough. After this he came out with the beautiful La Bete, so he is forgiven. The last 10 minutes are actually the best part.
