What's immediately apparent from the first scene is that the film isn't packed with stellar acting talent. The first thought is that entertaining yourself with that material for 86 minutes will be quite a challenge.

Let alone that there will be any credible kills to be seen, is the thought that follows.

Amateurish nonsense, is the expectation.

Ahem. So it wasn't too bad. The movie is actually pretty good. Once you get started, the bad acting isn't so noticeable, the story, though predictable in its progression, turns out to be quite fun, and the kills look spectacular enough.

The characters are familiar and not even annoying. There's even some humor here and there, the impact of which isn't always overwhelming, but the dose is satisfying.

The film is excellent entertainment and easy to watch. It's a bit slow at times. A bit of speed in the scenes would have made it more watchable. It wasn't terribly annoying, though.

Special attention to the closing act. It's a real treat. Spectacular, gory, and humorous all at once.

This is nice.

Well, it's sometimes strange how opinions can differ. I thought this was a dull, weak slasher with a very long, boring buildup, combined with bland characters you can't connect with at all. It's also strange that the main character (the boy) has absolutely no memory of the horrific accident. The kills also make little to no impression. And then there's that ridiculously dull soundtrack. That scene in the pool dragged on and on, and the logic behind it made sense: just so the boy wouldn't notice a thing when someone gets in the water and commits a murder, who also records it from the pool and then even has time to take the clothes. 4/10

80's Slasher of a Fairly High Level!

The film opens brutally and immediately reveals the killer's motive. The acting is good, though occasionally a bit cheesy, but that's what makes the 80s such a great era for horror. Good gore, and most of it is clearly depicted.

The father's dreams of killing his son are brutal and sickening!

Simple and entertaining horror movie with a simple and entertaining ending.

With this kind of 80's slashers you don't have to go into depth...just keep it nice and simple!

☆3.5
