Todd Smith is an avid YouTuber and a fan of the 'Found Footage' film genre. His ambition is to one day become a filmmaker. What Todd does not know, however, is that he is in danger of falling victim to another aspiring filmmaker and psychotic killer who calls himself SlasherVictim666.

A satirical horror film that primarily satirizes current internet culture, with a lurid lead performance by Mike Estes, who knows no inhibitions and therefore throws himself into his character with complete abandon. Reel is a film that occasionally breaks the fourth wall, as it's supposed to depict a montage from the perspective of someone mysteriously remaining behind the scenes. Yet, director Chris Good Goodwin seems to frequently forget this concept, leaving the impact of this SladherVictim666 minimal and rather simplistic. After about 30 minutes, the film also becomes quite tedious, with the sheer number of silly ideas and drawn-out character development feeling endless. Reel then concludes with fifteen minutes of overblown and gruesome torture footage, but it arrives far too late.
