Turn Your Body to the Sun plot

The incredible story of a Soviet soldier of Tatar descent who was captured by the Nazis during World War II. Now his daughter Sana, through his diaries and various personal and public records and registers, tries to trace the trail of her silent father, to understand what made him the man she knew as a child. While accompanying Sana on her quest, director Aliona van der Horst also digs through film archives to find traces of the millions of Soviet soldiers who lay in the firing line of belligerent dictators; those who were there but were conveniently left out of the global war story.
