While her husband is on a school trip in Poland, Barbara Falk is attacked, tied up and then beaten in her own home. The police begin their investigation and encounter many unanswered questions. Detective Chief Inspector Zerner in Saarlouis begins to doubt Barbara's statements. However, she has hardly any memories of the attack due to the anesthetic drops she was given. Barbara realizes her statements are not believed and withdraws her complaint, but Judith Mohn continues to follow directions. Another five years pass in which nothing happens in the Falk case - until a body is found by the roadside...
