The Family plot
"Thou shalt not disobey."
In the nineteenth century, a family lives on a farm that is ruled with an iron hand by the father. The devoted mother also demands obedience. The children are controlled by feeding their fear of an external threat. The youngest son Elijah is one day banished as punishment. His brother Caleb watches as his father invites a new relative to replace Elijah. Caleb begins to question his upbringing.
