La Ragazza Ha Volato plot

A story of people whose lives take place in a state of disorder and inertia. Nadia is an attractive young girl who leads a desolate life, with a loving family, but one who is bogged down in the plight of the poor suburbs of the city. She lives in Trieste, a city on the border between many cultures, a place where a strong wind blows and where the main character grows up and cultivates a solitude from which she will emerge in an unexpected way.

At the end of what to her is nothing more than a friendly date, sixteen-year-old Nadia [Alma Noce] is raped by Brando [Luka Zunic], a boy who attends her school. To make matters worse, Nadia has become pregnant in the process. Her father [Massimo Somaglino] and mother [Rossana Mortara] and her sister [Livia Rossi] are her only refuge in this bleak but unrevealing portrait of a teenage mother-to-be. Nadia goes through the different physical and emotional phases known from the many films that have been made on this theme before, but Labate and her co-screenwriters add little to that. The intention seems to have been to sketch the social indifference towards Nadia and her fellow sufferers. Apparently I missed that. Fortunately, Noce is convincing in the lead role.
