Marie works as a chef in a retirement home in a small mountain town in the south of France. Although she seems relatively well-adjusted, Marie harbors a painful secret: she is a former child soldier. She silently struggles with the remnants of her traumatic past and hides her post-traumatic stress disorder from those around her. Her quiet life is turned upside down the day an African priest named Father Patrick begins volunteering at the home.

Impressive film based on an equally impressive story, performed by a strong cast. Yet it is also a film with few surprises. It soon becomes clear where it is ultimately going. I thought the ending, and especially Marie's part, was a bit too much.
