Maria Kristu: The Buumba Story plot

Curious 16-year-old Buumba is a follower of the traditional Maria Kristu church. From an early age she has learned that her place in this world as a woman is next to her husband. In her quest for freedom, Buumba must go against the norms and doctrine of the Church. She must do everything she can to avoid sinking into a world of brainwashing, misogyny and favoritism as she fights to create a better place for both herself and other young women. She comes to the hard realization that freedom comes at a price, and only seems to be reserved for those who want to stand up for themselves.
