Reasonable film and an important theme (interesting that this was made in Ecuador!). Unfortunately, Andrade doesn't manage to rise above mediocrity. The biggest shortcoming is the overly emphatic attempt to leave much in the dark, especially the run-up to post-natal depression and its course. This is such a complex situation that some content is necessary, but instead the viewer suddenly drops in on Luisa's return from a clinic when she has already been treated. The difficult dealings with her husband and others that follow are interesting, but required more elaboration prior to this episode. As a result, the film falls into the trap of pretentiously emphasizing the 'subcutaneous', while forgetting to tell a story. So missed opportunity.
