River plot

River Allen is a 20-year-old woman in search of her fragmented identity. After her mother's death, River has been emotionally out of control. When the young woman disappears for a week, without remembering how she got home, she loses all sense of self and purpose. Disturbing, nightmarish images run through her head. She believes she has lost her grip on reality, which she believes is due to her mourning for her late mother. But an even darker, undiscovered secret haunts her. River's best friend, Amanda Banks, accompanies her on a journey of discovery to find the truth.
