Wawata Topu (female divers in Rasua dialect) is a documentary about four generations of fisherwomen trying to earn a living in the coastal town of Adara, West Ataúro in East Timor. Their daily lives, their economic practices and their main concerns, as well as the conflicting discourses and social barriers they face are shown in this ethnographic portrait that reveals their critical contribution to the domestic economies and the fishing community at large.
