New Year's Eve, 1999. 20-year-old Sebastian walks into a TV studio with a gun and takes a well-known TV host and a security guard hostage. He wants to make an important announcement via a live broadcast, but an insecure police force and a selfish network chairman throw a spanner in the works. As the night progresses, Sebastian and the hostages bond in an unexpected way. Meanwhile, people outside the TV studio try to restore order.
