"The war was just the beginning."
1945. An American military cargo plane loses control and crashes behind enemy lines in the middle of Germany's Black Forest. Immediately, the ruthless Major Johnson sends a team of his bravest soldiers on a rescue mission to retrieve the top-secret material the plane was carrying. Led by Sergeant Brewer and Walsh, the soldiers venture deep into the woods near the crash site.

Not a bad horror set in the Black Forest during World War II. A small plane with a secret cargo has crashed due to a flock of crows. A group of soldiers are ordered by the eccentric Major Johnson (Rourke) to find the plane. But all is not well in the forest... The German enemy is nowhere to be seen, but there are dark forces in the forest, strange apparitions, a mysterious mill, and crows...
Atmospheric and delightfully eerie.

Director Mauro Borrelli drags together a bunch of semi-famous cast members in this messy and confusing mix of war, horror and drama. Still, all the nonsense turns out quite entertaining, because WarHunt is not devoid of the necessary atmosphere and bombast. The fact that the content is like a pig on a stick also provides a certain degree of unpredictability, because the style combinations that have to be made here are quite unconventional. It is not all very clever or aesthetic, but the individual action moments entertain solidly and the makers are not afraid to deliberately explore the strange corners. Horror films have come out worse, but in the end you will have forgotten it in no time.
