Nice young movie.

These are often overlooked, because film is often a somewhat more old-fashioned medium. Directors are often a bit more advanced in age, the younger directors are often some of those old souls who are more easily involved in what is expected of a film. That's why these films have always had an edge for me.

It's also nice that the film is about the underground/indie music scene in Columbus, and has also given leading roles to artists from the same scene. Makes it more believable, both the acting and the soundtrack. You also notice that the actors play characters they are familiar with, but who just react a little differently because of the narrative that is being set up.

The cinematography is stylish, the soundtrack pleasantly eclectic, the acting performances are good and I also thought the small genre switch at the end was a nice addition. In other words, a very nice film that feels like something made by and for a younger generation.

4.0* and a extensive review
