Retired Ulrich Kainer moves to a village in the countryside. He wants to spend his last days there in peace, but that is not counting the eccentric inhabitants. A bar owner who portrays him as a murderer, an affectionate farmer's wife, an avant-garde band of Nazis, a brash police officer and even the angry beasts of the village prevent him from resting.
