Donald and Pluto plot
Donald is a plumber who is replacing pipes in the basement of a house. Pluto also happens to be there to enjoy a juicy bone and accidentally swallows a tool from Donald. The swallowed magnet causes it to attract various metal objects.

Mickey has often had a small role in his own series (Mickey's Circus or Pluto's Judgement Day, among others), but he simply doesn't appear in this one. As the title suggests, the focus is on Donald Duck and Pluto, but it's actually Pluto who's practically on screen the entire time. Due to Donald's clumsiness, the dog swallows a magnet, which naturally has dire consequences. The problem is that this is also the only joke in the entire short, and after a while, the fun wears off. The animation does look decent, and this short was also the first to feature Donald Duck in the redesign we know him best by.

Donald is always a hothead, but it's mostly about Pluto. He's about to turn 90! It's not high-quality animation, but it does have some charm. And the humor surrounding the magnet isn't bad. Nothing memorable, but plenty to enjoy.
