Singer Bing Crosby doesn't take it too seriously with his career in radio, where he often arrives late to the chagrin of his bosses. Combined with his affair with Mona Lowe, this leads to his resignation. Then he meets the hapless Texas oiler Leslie McWhinney with whom he befriends. They plan to get their lives back on track and radio can help with that.
