How do you deal with an emergency situation and moving to a foreign country? A Bosnian family flees the war in their homeland. In 1994 they end up as refugees in the Netherlands where, after receiving their residence permit, they go to live in a small village. There, the two parents and the two children try to embrace their new country as their homeland in their own way.

Three storylines, one family.

A bit of fun but also that nasty racism; also warm satisfaction but especially the attachment to the home.

Funny too, this film that is only a bit erratic in its structure, but that doesn't make it any less real or lively.
