Bo plot
When fickle Bo travels to Georgia to visit the grave of her father - a well-known trumpeter - she runs into his former childhood friend Levan. In search of her roots and a better understanding of her father, she decides to hitch a ride in Levan's truck. Despite the age difference, they gently give in to the love they feel for each other. Bo's father's melancholic trumpet playing accompanies their journey through the breathtaking Georgian landscape. In the end, they trust each other to such an extent that both Bo and Levan share their darkest secrets.

We can deduce from her light blue hair that Bo [Gaite Jansen] is a rebellious young woman. She is camping at the grave of her father David [Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyze], who died young, a renowned trumpeter, when she (a bit too coincidental) meets David's childhood friend Levan [Rati Tsiteladze]. What follows is initially not very believable and downright boring. When Bo tells what happened to her mother and the umpteenth moody trumpet motif presents itself, it becomes clear that we are dealing with a sentimental dragon. Halfway through I already had a dark brown suspicion of what was going on and although the further course made my prediction completely ridiculous, I turned out to be right. Unfortunately...

Gloomy drama cum road movie about a young adult woman who travels to distant Georgia to visit her father's grave. There, after many fives and sixes, she falls inimitably / inexplicably in love with a former friend of her father, a middle-aged man with a troubled past. Whatever. So it's a shame that we don't get to see more of Georgia.

I mainly wanted to see this one because of Gaite, but she is clearly a little less convincing when she has to speak English. Those few moments when she is allowed to speak Dutch, she is so much better and more real. Although she is still a thousand times better than the otherwise completely colorless Tsiteladze. Furthermore, a monster of a film. First typical arthouse with many of those silent but MEANINGFUL looks, then overdramatic. It doesn't matter about the content. In terms of atmosphere and music (170 Hz can be recognized) it is still nice for the first 45 minutes, but after that it becomes less so. 1.5*.
