Very little happens in this dull film, in which two young people are stuck in a time loop. Why this happens to the girl is clear, but as for the boy, I wouldn't know, unless I missed something (and that's entirely possible). The film adds little to nothing to previous spin-offs of Groundhog Day (1993)

With two pleasant and harmonious leads, director Ian Samuels succeeds in creating an enjoyable, lighthearted, and nonchalantly told film. And all this despite the numerous moments of déjà vu. Moments that many of his predecessors, which use a time loop, are guilty of. Moments that Samuels casually and casually reuses.

The film follows well-trodden paths. It doesn't pretend to be anything different. The film's opening speaks volumes in that regard. A series of repetitive situations humorously illustrates the comings and goings of Mark. A fun intro full of familiar scenes.

When Margaret suddenly appears in his daily routine, she shakes up his small, stable world. The film's tone remains lighthearted and playful. And (except for a few moments) it remains so.

It's déjà vu, but nevertheless highly entertaining. Two teenagers on the verge of adulthood face complex decisions, new experiences, and emotions that will shape the rest of their lives.

And yes, that sounds and is quite predictable and simplistic. But still. The sensitive blend of beautiful choreography, lighthearted humor, and a cheerful, positive atmosphere makes the film a wonderful experience.

The Map of Tiny Perfect Things is a meaningless yet very enjoyable déjà vu.
