A disagreement during a parent contact escalates into a sports bet between Bertram Dinkler, a biscuit manufacturer by trade, and single mother Stefanie Eckhoff. They are both in their fifties and they soon discover that they may have taken too much on their hands. However, neither can abandon the bet without losing face.
