"No choice"
NATO bombs the Serbian capital Belgrade in March 1999 and the Serbian army withdraws from the Kosovo region in June. As a result, the Serb minority is at the mercy of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK). The UÇK is guilty of looting, rape and murder against Serbs. A small group of Russian soldiers is to capture and hold the airport in Kosovo's capital, Pristina, until Russian peacekeepers arrive.
