Nice film about a man who has been a detective since childhood and now has his first murder case. A film noir-like plot with a somewhat different tone that does not work equally well everywhere (this makes the film sometimes a bit unbalanced). The denouement is also an example of this, but it does mean that it is not exactly predictable. Just under 3.5 stars.

Nice movie.
Although I also really like Knives Out. (I always have a soft spot for these types of detectives.) It's just a shame that everyone fell for that film so much and that this film (partly due to 10x less star power) received very little love.
Because the films are somewhat similar. This one is a bit drier and more relaxed. But they are not detectives that are purely about the mystery. Here, Brody's character is a pretty good portrayal of a lot of millennials. Having big dreams, but around the age of thirty you realize that it doesn't all go smoothly.
It makes the film fresh and the jokes are delivered in doses and perfectly timed. Excellent running time and Brody, who I see more and more often, is a very nice actor.
3.5 stars.

Solid neo noir detective film with an original premise, namely a boy who peaked too early. And it has already been depreciated in 30 years. I think it could have been a bit crazier and there is little tension and action. It falls just a little short of being truly memorable. It mainly leans towards comedy and provides insight into a subculture at school. The comparison with brick then arises. If you like this you should definitely watch Brick.
