Antoinette dans les Cévennes plot

Miss Antoinette from Group 8 is overjoyed when the school year is over. She is having an affair with Vladimir, the father of one of her students, and they had agreed that they would secretly go on holiday together. When Vladimir reports that his wife has arranged a walking holiday in the Cevennes, Antoinette feels rejected. She impulsively decides to book the same holiday and take the same walk with a donkey as a pack animal, but her plan doesn't work out the way she expected.

Delicious nonsense, with a charming school party as the opener, a funny supper in the auberge and, spread over the entire film, a series of surprising situations, also romantic, with Patrick, the donkey' as the principal.

First time I find Laure Calamy in a leading role and she does it smoothly and spontaneously. I think she's a remarkable actress. Excellent for roles like our Antoinette's.

Would rather have heard a cheerful French chanson at the end credits than the lazy voice or Dean Martin but it was an enjoyable film.

Delightful of course anyway how in this generally warm and at times quite

funny movie the saying as stubborn as an ass is expressed. Antoinette has a lot

away from a naive jump in the field that goes full for love. But in the long run you will

her doubts about her great love, to which the reaction is equally naive and angry.

It's all fairly light-hearted, and the predicate comedy/adventure seems to me

also in place, instead of possibly comedy / drama. Because any drama is in the movie

wisely avoided. The beautiful natural environment also plays a major role. Of

as strange as beautiful scene when Antoinette (Lost) awakens in the

nature, and she feels surrounded by several animals. Almost has something fairytale like,

and, in my opinion, indicates all the more that the director mainly wants to aim for a certain

casual purity. That is why there is also an uninhibited Antoinette who is in front of the stubborn donkey

In the end, Patrick even seems to feel as much tenderness as for her lover. The film

balances on balance between comical and touching, with a major role of

the donkey Patrick. With, of course, as always the inevitable question of how to prevent that

got each other. Because animals just don't follow what people want

instructions.

This turned out to be a fun video. A kind of road movie, but with a donkey. A simple story, but still captivating from start to finish. The film could have lasted a bit longer, I never got bored. The cast did a great job too.

Worth seeing.
