Hero plot
Seol-Hee (Kim Go-Eun) worked for Queen Myeongseong but joined the resistance for Korean independence when the Japanese killed her mistress. She becomes a geisha and is in the favor of Hirobumi Ito, the Japanese Resident-General of Korea. She decides to accompany Ito when he travels to Manchuria, but unaware that An Jung-Geun (Jung Sung-Hwa), also a fighter for the Korean freedom movement, is determined to kill Ito on that journey.

Ode to the Korean resistance hero Ahn Jung-geun against Japanese rule at the beginning of the last century. The format (a musical) makes the film almost inaccessible to people who do not speak the Korean language, because subtitling the sung parts does not work (at least not for me). Shame.
