The Fear Footage plot
"Expect Nightmares."
A horror omnibus film with multiple stories. There is, among other things, a story about a birthday party where a boy records creepy images of clowns. In another story, a police officer reads a little girl's ominous diary and the warnings it contains. Furthermore, there is a team that gets stuck overnight during a storm.

Bad.
Sort of a VHS ripoff. In principle, this film is an answer to the many other anthology films in this style that have been released. That can work out well, but it can also work out completely cheap. Unfortunately, despite the best intentions, this film mainly falls into the second category. Too bad, the concept was nice.
The film is short, but the feeling that it could have been a little shorter is often strong. There are several sequences that can be found that are quite easy. For example, a whole minute is spent reading a drawn diary. Those are moments that make you say "huh?" thinks, as they mainly stretch the playing time in too simple a way.
Furthermore, it is striking how often the film finds a quite successful idea and then milks it over the entire film. For example, I can always appreciate the flashlight cameras, but they are used in literally every story and not even in a special way. There is a great lack of tension in this film, but the scares should provide some life. However, these are often on the simple side, with the exception of a successful scene in which a priest jumps towards the camera.
Also, the trick where images are scattered with glitch effects is too overdone. It often adds nothing. The Fear Footage also has some funny sequences and nice monsters. The good ideas were there, but the implementation lagged behind. It's a shame, because the film is on the right track at times, but in general it relies too much on the same elements and a slightly too cheap look.
