At times a nice pulpy martial arts film. You know what you're getting so set your mind to 0 and you'll have a great hour and a half. The movie is fast paced with lots of action. And strangely enough, that is also the pitfall. There is actually too much action in this film, so that after an hour you are a bit beaten down and it all becomes a bit monotonous. There is also too little at stake to make the fights exciting. The first 45 minutes are fine, but as soon as the fights against Brax start, the level drops.

Also funny to see that a lot has been stolen from Predator. Actually, this is a kind of martial arts Predator movie. Just delicious cold. It also regularly feels like a kind of game film, partly due to the separate camera angles. A trick that director Dimitri Logothetis also used in Kickboxer: Retaliation.

The cast also does a fine job. Not surprising that Nicolas Cage has come up with such a film. But you can say what you want, whatever movie he's in, he always gives 100%. Something you can't say about Bruce Willis (who is walking the same path as Cage).

Uhm, well Jiu Jitsu, I had a great time so I can't give it an unsatisfactory rating. Great production values, lots of action and a nice cast.

3 stars

Watched and looked forward to today.

Predator Vs American Ninjas can also be called this movie, a bunch of soldiers who compete against a Predator from the past, so much stolen from Predator.

I thought the monster was well made, looked pretty creepy and also good fights with the soldiers.

A bit of the same in terms of combat, sometimes a bit boring, but this one wasn't that bad, was it?

A small role for Cage too, he does not play a leading role.

All in all reasonably entertaining and he is not as bad as people say here, but a lot of stealing from 'Predator'

A comet that passes Earth every six years opens the gate at a Buddhist temple in Burma for a Death Warrior. What exactly he is looking for, has eluded me for a while, but that doesn't matter much. After all, it's just an excuse for a bunch of brawls. Those fights are performed as demonstrations, in which the actors visibly hold back and it is more reminiscent of a dance performance than a fight. The choreography is fine and Logothetis uses varying visual tricks and styles so that the fights don't become monotonous. However, the story is not at all interesting and especially (but not only) Moussi has little knowledge of the acting profession. Eddie Steeples is bloody annoying as the comic relief.
