"Who should I trust?"
On the eve of World War II in the city of Kobe, Yusaku Fukuhara already has a bad feeling. He leaves his wife Satoko behind and leaves with his cousin for Manchuria in China. There they witness a horrific crime that Yusaku wants to bring out. Meanwhile, Satoko is approached by her childhood friend and police officer Taiji about her husband.
