A Morte Habita à Noite plot
Raul is fifty. He is an alcoholic and unemployed but has a passion for Ligia. Tired of living in the decaying building where she lives with Raul, on the outskirts of Recife, Ligia decides to leave him. Raul gets into trouble. While visiting health centers and temporarily working, he builds a relationship with Cassia, a 16-year-old who is also lost. She has been sexually abused in the past. Raul is the first man who doesn't. She clings to him, but Raul is wary of a serious relationship. After a few weeks he gets the news that she has committed suicide. Totally tired and ill, Raul meets Inês, a corpse that appears in the guest house where he lives. Raul spends a day with this corpse and perceives it as if it were alive. He goes on a journey with Inês to the beach of Janga, in Olinda, with the intention of throwing the body into the sea.
