Rotterdam 2040 plot

"Neo-Neo-Classicism!"

Rotterdam 2040 is a film about the future of the city, where La Rivière's premise is that you can't move forward without looking back (something Rotterdam isn't very good at). In his own associative way, La Rivière reconstructs the development of Rotterdam from before the bombing in 1940 to the present at lightning speed, and continues this development into the year 2040 (100 years after the bombing and the city's 700th anniversary).
