Sisyphus at Work plot

After years, Boy Talma (53) returns to his hometown Den Bosch to shoot his new film, a sung and danced variation on the Sisyphus theme of meaninglessness. Just before the start, he learns that he has only nine months to live. He decides to keep the verdict a secret, but the scenes he devises for his film begin to coincide with his own life. He ascribes acquaintances, friends and loved ones a role in his fantasized film, while in a special friendship with thirteen-year-old Virginia, he makes one last, rebellious journey. Unbeknownst to him, all the characters guide him to the end.
