The Dutch Maite Hontelé is a celebrated salsa trumpet player in Colombia. While at the peak of her fame, she struggles with her instrument and with herself. Maite Hontelé, born in Haaften in the Netherlands, played the trumpet at an early age. As a child she wanted nothing more than to play salsa, the music style that is in her blood. She has become a role model for Latin American women, who see in Maite an example of a strong, independent woman.
