Waco: Madman or Messiah plot
David Koresh, formerly Vernon Wayne Howell, goes from a Texas working-class kid to the prophet of a small apocalyptic religious sect, the Branch Davidians. Followers from around the world travel to his center Mount Carmel believing he is a Messiah sent by God to lead them in the final battle against Babylon. But when Koresh announces that God has told him to sleep with young girls and dissolve all marriages in the group so that he can conceive the Chosen Race, some followers become suspicious of his motives. Things are in limbo when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms raids because it is convinced Koresh and his followers have illegal weapons. Who is David Koresh and why are so many people willing to die for him?
