Pregnant Charlotte loses her boyfriend in a car accident. Inconsolable, she is taken into his family, where it turns out not much later that every action of hers is closely watched. Kindred a meaningless film that can be described as pulp of the highest order. Here and there it is a bit different from previous productions and it tries to form a whole. It is tension-free, content-free and all-around simply soporific.

Very predictable film, right up to the end. And that's the sad thing about this. The story behind it is quite good, unfortunately Charlotte is portrayed as a very stupid cow. This way you can make a film last a very long time, but the whole thing becomes slower and less interesting by the minute. With a few clever plot twists and a little more pacing, my rating would have been higher.

Mediocre film about a dominant family (read: mother-in-law) in which a young widow is psychologically terrorized, often in a subtle way. At the beginning of the film, Charlotte seems like a free-spirited woman with her own opinion, but that crumbles quite quickly. No real explanation for this is given. It also indicates why the film is quite flat and unbalanced.
It rambles on too much and it doesn't really get scary, creepy or uncomfortable. In the end you don't really care anymore what happens to her or how the film evolves. A film that is also labeled as horror on IMDB, but it doesn't really go that far.
You sometimes wonder who is making who crazy here, but that is not played out in a sufficiently decisive manner, making it a bland concoction. Not really recommended.
