Documentary showing the appalling living and working conditions of the miners in the Borinage, the Belgian coal basin between Mons (Mons) and the French border. The documentary focuses on the miners' strike of 1932. After the strike, the management of the mines hit back hard: they fire strikers, cut off their houses from water and electricity or evict strikers from their homes.
