Dad's Cabin plot

The widower Jinge Chen is a retired war veteran who often remembers his time as a soldier in the army of the great leader Mao. During her childhood, he relentlessly pushed his only daughter Ning to enlist in the military as well. However, she wanted to become a ballet dancer. That conflict came to a dramatic denouement when Ning left with the northern sun as a teenager. Now, years later, she suddenly appears at his door: a successful businesswoman, married to an American and mother of a five-year-old daughter.
