After her mother's death, Julie returns with her daughter to her former hometown. They soon find that they have nowhere to stay. Frances Allen, an acquaintance of Julie's mother, offers them a room in her mansion. While Julie manages her family affairs, she hears stories about the house's history and discovers that the owners may want more from her than just company.
