The Mother of Beauty plot
The documentary The Mother of Beauty tells the story of the Blue Book Modeling Agency archive that contains the extraordinary life story of modeling agent Emmeline Snively. She owned The Blue Book Model Agency; Hollywood's leading modeling agency in post-war America. It was Emmeline who discovered Marilyn Monroe and countless other male and female models with her. Today, Emmeline Snively's ideas about beauty are still alive with her models. They are now around ninety years old and are holding on to their aging beauty. Memories of their childhood, life experience, aging and mortality tell the story of a period filled with humor, sadness and everything in between. What was it like in the modeling world back in the day? What does it mean for them to get older? And does 'being beautiful' continue to be important as the years go by?
