The Final Sacrifice plot
In the fall of 1944, Italy turned into a chaotic country. The Allies are advancing from the south. The Germans still want to win the war with their ally, but the Italians are divided among themselves. Meanwhile, a fierce battle rages on the infamous Gotenstellung. A well-fought German unit has to withdraw before a stronger group of Americans. But not everyone saves themselves. A few volunteers choose to make the ultimate sacrifice and take as many Americans as possible into death.

Yesterday afternoon I also caught The Final Sacrifice, where I already feared it would be a mediocre film, a bit like Asylum. And that turned out to be quite accurate, because this was a truly sad spectacle.
My first point is that I must make a comment regarding the number of war films about the fighting in Italy, such as the Battle of the Gustav Line or Monte Cassino. Because, frankly, very little of that is reflected on the big screen. So, a film set in this environment always grabs attention, provided something is made of it. The film does seem to open reasonably well with decent scenery and action, and all sides are shown. But that is pretty much it in terms of good points.
For subsequently, various soldiers are far, far too old for conscripts or non-commissioned officers—you could even say they are elderly—the whole thing lacks a single appealing character, and on top of that, a quasi-funny atmosphere is created with certain music. You could even say that at a certain point it becomes too bland and too weak for words, with the only moment that gives me a brief perk being the soundtrack playing a snippet from the game Medal of Honor. Apart from that, this film is something that should be forgotten very quickly, because it is simply bad.
