Despite true facts, almost everything looks unbelievable. It all starts with the relationship between Julie (Amber Midthunder) and David (Brett Zimmerman). The way they get to know each other and the missing chemistry between each other. But also the developments at the police station, the imaginative power of the sun that gives her the strength to take revenge in an unbelievable way afterwards, her mom who suddenly gets a vision that she is alive, testimonials that are just dropped become, the very strange twists of David that make him suspicious, the very chance encounters with Alicia that one just finds somewhere in another village and there are many more examples. Very weak movie! 3/10

Mediocre.

So TV happening this. Didn't really expect to find a movie like this on Netflix right away, but oh well. Such a large service as Netflix has enough variety in its offer to more than wipe those expectations off the map, and that is how I ended up with this film. It was obviously not the best choice.

We follow two characters, one of whom eventually becomes obsessed with the other. Certainly within the framework of relationships quite an important subject that is known to many of us, but anyone who thinks that this film will only deal with it a little realistically is wrong. This film goes a bit further than just writing love letters.

In the end, despite a more than decent pace, the film remains quite boring and dull in its execution. Visually put together too ephemeral despite a clearly sunny atmosphere in the town. The relationships between characters are engaging enough to push the story forward but nothing innovative or exciting. However, it pretty much ends there. A big no-brainer really. A film that you will soon forget.

Femicide is a subject that deserves more attention, but this film is quite unbalanced. The perpetrator makes my neck hairs stand on end at the first meeting by having already looked up information about her in advance. Obviously a creep. With many of the real stories, that doesn't always seem to be clear in advance. It does not seem unlikely to me that the police will not respond adequately to it and certainly in the US I have the impression that the police can be a kind of mafia organization in which everyone covers for each other.

Anyway, the film leaves little to guess about what happens and most of the film feels like a kind of documentary, so there is little tension. The surprise that the main character turns out to be alive feels very forced, although it seems to be based on reality. It mainly has to do with how the film presents it all. All in all, it doesn't feel particularly strong. 1.5*.
