Meeting Gorbachev plot
Werner Herzog met three times in a six-month period with former president Mikhail Gorbachev, who is now 87. Herzog interviews the farmer's son from the Caucasus. During and thanks to Gorbachev's leadership, major upheavals took place on the world stage. Herzog supplements Gorbachev's story with commentary and background through his voice-over, archive footage and interviews with other prominent politicians of the time.
