Stealing Van Gogh plot
Documentary about the theft of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh from the Van Gogh Museum in 2002. Art critic Andrew Graham-Dixon investigates why criminals have an interest in stealing such famous and therefore virtually unsaleable masterpieces. He shows how organized crime uses stolen art and how stolen art can be recovered. He travels through Europe and talks with experts, the police and prosecutors. He also visits Amsterdam for a small reconstruction of the theft. The canvases were found in Italy in 2016 and are now back in the museum's possession.
