Ni De Lian plot

Tsai Ming-liang's latest digital experiment turns human faces into a subject of dramatic intrigue. Consisting of a series of shots of portraits of anonymous individuals, the beauty and imperfection of their faces are central. Accompanied by Ryuichi Sakamoto's soundtrack, Tsai's faces stare, talk and sleep, registering every pore, wrinkle and line.
