Irma Boom works as a commissioned book designer, very different from a 'free, autonomous' artist. At the same time, her way of working shows that she wants nothing more than to position and profile herself as a free artist. Director Lex Reitsma will take the viewer into the world of Irma Boom in which we will see how she fights with dedication for the survival of the book and how she manages to unite her autonomous way of working with commissioned work. The film gives an idea of the quality of Irma's work and is also an ode to the profession of graphic design.
