Paul Asher, an up-and-coming journalist, returns home from the war in Afghanistan to find his life falling apart - his marriage has failed and he is gripped by a personal crisis he doesn't yet understand. Even more serious, a soldier Paul was friends with in Afghanistan is having trouble at home. Paul desperately tries to help him. But Paul's life takes a strange turn when he's offered an interview he can't possibly resist - an interview with someone who claims to be God.
