Not just any movie. One of the biggest Japanese box-office hits (albeit achieved through sales abroad) ever, and has already been remade by John Woo under the title Manhunt. I kind of expected this. Is actually no more than the classic "Fugitive" concept, in which a man is falsely accused and flees. While he has to elude the police, he goes in search of the truth. Not really a surprising and innovative plot, but the makers were fairly ambitious and wanted to set up grand spectacle scenes. Unfortunately that doesn't always work : the bear is an actor in a suit (looks very ridiculous) and for the crash of a Cessna in the ocean they used a miniature model in some pond . Still, I don't write this adventure/action film off completely, because despite the 150 minutes it has a good pace and Ken Takakura is not the least of the actors. Just a bonus to see him at work.
