Die Tochter plot
The parents of seven-year-old Luca have been divorced for two years. When they want to put their holiday home up for sale, they fall for each other again. They rekindle their relationship, much to Luca's chagrin. She saw her father Jimmy sporadically at the time of the divorce, but he always gave her his full attention. Now Luca has to share her father with her mother Hannah again.

A gripping psychodrama about a little girl who bends over backwards to win her parents' undivided attention, especially her father's. Unfortunately, the story develops little, and—albeit with minor variations—it's more of the same over and over again. Nevertheless, it's a film that leaves you deeply moved, not least because of the powerful performance of the still-young Helena Zeller, who proved this is no fluke with her later roles in Systemsprenger (2019) and News of the World (2020).

Beautifully narrated by BBarbie. Almost a psychological thriller, in which the daughter pits her father and mother against each other and more or less seizes power. Such a sweet girl you'd love to wallpaper. The acting is exceptionally good, especially by the still-young Helena Zeller. The images of the Greek island are breathtaking. I also found the ending powerful.
