Genesis 2.0 plot
On the inhospitable plain of the North Siberian Islands, a handful of men search for the white gold: the tusks, preferably intact, of the woolly mammoth. Gold rush is in the air as prices for the rare mammoth ivory have risen sharply in recent years. Very occasionally it's jackpot: then the hunters find not just the tusks, but an entire carcass, with fur, tissue and liquid blood. The latter is worth gold to South Korean and Russian high-tech scientists. Their dream reads like the plot of a science fiction story (or a blockbuster from 25 years ago): they want to reconstruct the DNA of the mammoth to bring the species back to life. Scientists all over the world are working to recreate new life. The resurrection of the mammoth is only the first step in the next great technological revolution. An exercise as it were. For Genesis 2.0.
