Klanken van Oorsprong plot
The story of various artists with a Dutch-Indonesian background, who between 1945 and 1962, together with more than 350,000 other Indo-Dutch people, were forced to return to their original homeland: the Netherlands. Once in the Netherlands, Dutch Indies bands such as 'The Tielman Brothers' and 'The Crazy Rockers' immediately attracted a lot of attention from the enthusiastic Dutch youth who had a great appetite for rock 'n' roll music. Dutch-Indonesian singers such as Sandra Reemer, Liesbeth List and Boudewijn de Groot also caused a lot of furore. Sounds of Origin is a mosaic of stories about the power of survival in difficult circumstances, the origin of the people portrayed and the search for their identity.
